Hi there! First I want to start by saying Thank you for stopping by and checking out my dream of bringing arts & crafts into the lives of creative kiddos & their parents! My name is Lindsay Kwait and I am the Doodlebugz Art Teacher. Teaching art to children has been a dream of mine since I became interested in pursing my career in art at the young age of 13. I was very fortunate to have a mother that is extremely creative and helped me follow my creative wonderment at such a young age by allowing me to take extra art classes after school. As a teenager I was in all advanced art classes in high school as well as spent 2 afternoons a week at an Art Studio which allowed me to use a variety of mediums and skills to nurture my imagination. After high school I went on to the University of North Texas and studied Interior Design and Fibers (the Design of Fabrics) while working as a nanny of triplets and found my love for children and their naive enthusiasm of art. After school, I then went and worked for Creative Designs based out of Plano, Texas and fulfilled my itch to bring gorgeous bedding, draperies and accessories into households all over North Texas. With the help of my boss and Mentor, Gwen Bell, I was able to learn and design many wonderful pillows that have since been displayed in stores and catalogs all over the United States. In 2006 I had my wonderful son, Travis. What a blessing I was given when I was able to stay at home with him, but since my creative mind never turns off, when he turned 6 months I started my own business of designing personal blogs, websites and graphics for customers all over the world. Splat Creative Designs was a wonderful creative outlet for a busy body art momma! Now that my son is older I have decided to fulfill my love for children and art and putting them both together and teaching Doodlebugz art classes. As a teacher I like to work with each child, answering questions, demonstrating and encouraging new techniques with multiple mediums. Your child will have fun exploring different aspects of art and using their unique creative personalities. Positive reinforcement will give your child the courage to try their new skills and feel confident experimenting with things they may not be familiar with.
